Reedsy uses Stripe for secure payment transactions. Stripe works like an escrow system and simplifies the payment process by automatically redistributing amounts to you and Reedsy. That is to say, you don’t have to withdraw funds deposited into your Stripe account — funds will automatically be moved into your bank account once payments clear.

When your account has been set up, there is no further interaction needed on your end. You will be paid on the dates set out in your payment schedule and will never have to chase clients for money.

Similar to PayPal, Stripe charges a fixed percentage fee (varies depending on the Stripe country) for managing the transaction plus a small fee per successful card charge.

Please check the Stripe’s pricing page for your country below for more information:

I have changed my country, do I need to set up a new Stripe account?

Yes. Once you’ve created a Stripe account, it’s not possible to change the country that your account is registered in as mentioned here on Stripe’s website.

Therefore, when you relocate to a new country, here’s what you have to do:

Head to your Account Settings;
Click on Payments on the upper left-hand side;
Once on the button “DISCONNECT STRIPE”;
Go to Stripe’s website and open a new account;
In your Account Settings, click on “CONNECT WITH STRIPE”; and
Finally, click on “Sign in” in the top-right corner of the new window.
