Upfront costs for freelancers
If you need to pay for costs upfront on behalf of the author to finance preliminary marketing or publicity costs, such as postage for review copy mailing or advertising costs, you may add a payment to your collaboration to be reimbursed for these expenses. Amendments can be made via the “Offer” tab:
After you create your amendment, feel free to leave receipts in the “Files” section of the collaboration (found on the left sidebar). When tax time comes, you can easily justify that the Stripe payments related to these are in fact expense reimbursements.
