Reedsy Discovery — get reviews for your books
Is your book in the final stages of production? Perhaps the editing is mostly finished, and your cover design is looking rock-solid? In that case, you’re probably thinking of ways to market it. Read on to find out how Reedsy Discovery can help boost your marketing efforts.
For a fee of $50, you can submit your book to Reedsy Discovery’s pool of verified reviewers. When filling out the submission form, you’ll be asked to enter information about the book, the day it launches on Amazon or other stores, as well as the day you’d like it to go live on Discovery. Please note that your Discovery launch date must be five weeks into the future so that reviewers have enough time to pick up your book and post a longer editorial review.
For a step-by-step guide on how to submit your book to Discovery, watch our video tutorial!
Tip: Most authors choose the same date for their book’s retailer launch and its Discovery launch. This timing gives your book the most exposure upon its release. If you choose to do this, please note that both your retailer launch and Discovery launch dates must be at least 5 weeks away from the day you submit it. Reedsy Discovery accepts titles of all popular genres, targeted at any age group. However, your book should fulfill the following criteria:
Your book should be in its launch period meaning it’s due to be released or was published recently (no longer than six months ago).
It hasn’t already been reviewed on Discovery.
It should be written in English.

If a reviewer has picked up your book, they’ll read it, write a review, and then post it to Reedsy Discovery by your Discovery launch date. Please bear in mind that only one reviewer can pick up your book, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll receive a review. In any case, we’ll keep you posted at every step of this process via email.
Once the review is posted, you can read it on your book’s landing page. Here’s the added benefit: this landing page is available to you even before the review is published, so you can use it to market your book while you wait for the reviewer. To give you an idea of what to expect, here’s an example of a landing page.
To make the most of this page, ensure that all the links (storefronts and your website) are working correctly so that visitors can buy your book as soon as it’s available.
On the day your book launches on Discovery, invite your friends and followers to sign up for a Reedsy Discovery account and upvote your book. The sign-up process is quick and the more upvotes you receive, the greater the chance your book will have to be featured in our weekly newsletter!
Absolutely! We know how important these reviews are to help attract potential readers. After all, that’s why we do this. When reposting, make sure to wait until after your book has launched on Discovery and be sure to reference the reviewer and Discovery.
If your Discovery launch date is approaching and you haven’t received an email saying that your book’s been picked up, check your submission again and see if you can make improvements. Here’s what we recommend:
See if the book cover is correctly displayed on your landing page. If there are formatting issues and you can’t solve them, please contact us.
Does your synopsis have a strong hook? Reviewers only see the first couple of sentences before they decide whether to click on your book, so make sure the beginning catches their eye!
