To keep Reedsy in tip-top shape, we charge a 20% commission fee on collaborations. This fee is shared between professionals (10%) and clients (10%). Fees allow us to develop the product, curate our marketplace, offer exemplary customer support and satisfaction guarantees.

Can I get a discount on the Reedsy fee?

Yes, you can! Reedsy offers discounts on our commission fee based on the aggregated amount transacted between you and a specific professional throughout your collaborations. The following rates apply:

$0 – $5,000 > 10%
$5,001 – $10,000 > 9% each side
$10,001 – $15,000 > 8% each side
$15,001 and above > 7% each side

The calculation is a bit like tax brackets, but reversed… the more you spend, the cheaper Reedsy becomes!

You’ve completed all sections of your profile, but it still says it’s incomplete? Here’s how to fix this! 🔧

Fill in all sections

Make sure you’re filled in every field in your profile, including:

A profile picture — this should be a clear headshot (and don’t forget to smile!);
A short description — which will be the first thing authors see before clicking to see your full profile;
An overview — to introduce yourself, highlight your best experience, and explain your work process.
A service — that which you’re offering, along with some sub-services so that we can make more accurate suggestions.
A genre — for each of which you should have at least two books you’ve worked on.
Your work experience — share the most relevant records.
Books in your Portfolio, Gallery, or Projects section — relevant to your service

Depending on the type of services you offer, you’ll need a specific number of books, projects, and/or images in your profile.

How do I send a request to professionals?

Learn about the process of finding and working with the right professional on Reedsy.

It’s simple to request quotes on Reedsy. Just follow the following steps:

Head to the Marketplace and pick the service you need (editing, design, publicity, etc.).
Use the Choose a service filter, the genres dropdown menu, and search bar to narrow down a list of relevant professionals.
Have a look at our list of services here to get an idea of what you might need).
Browse through the profiles and select up to five professionals to contact. Click “Continue” to start creating the project brief you’ll send them.
Add as much information as you can to your brief to ensure you get an accurate quote from the professionals. Don’t forget to attach a sample of your manuscript!

If you can't complete your request right away, consider saving a copy on your device. Until you submit your request, your browser will typically save the draft request for about a week.

How can I change my book title?

So, you’ve created your book in the Reedsy Book Editor and you now want to change your book title? Not a problem! Click on “My Books”, then hit “Manage” next to the book whose title you want to change.

Select “Book Settings” on the left-hand side of your screen and click on the title itself. This will make a cursor appear, letting you edit the book title, the subtitle, and the synopsis.

How can I add an image?

Click on the “+” button at the top right corner. A bar with different options will appear where you can select “Image” and add the file directly from your computer. You can also drag and drop images directly into the interface.

If you want to deactivate your Reedsy account as a professional or author, just follow these steps.

(Please bear in mind that, for obvious reasons, you cannot close your account if you have an ongoing collaboration with an author or a professional on Reedsy.)

How to deactivate account

Log in to your account at reedsy.com;
Go to your Account Settings;
Click on the “DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT” button.

Choose if you want all data deleted

After you have clicked on “DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT”, a dialog will show up.

You can choose the reason why you are deactivating your account and also tick the box for Yes, remove my data from Reedsy’s servers if you want to delete your data.

Finally, click on the red “DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT” button to confirm your choices.
